Palangka Raya, 28 February 2025 – Dr. James Langston, a Landscape Transition Scientist from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia, visited the Center for Development of Science, Technology and Peatland Innovation (PPIIG) at Universitas Palangka Raya (UPR) today.

Accompanied by Wandy Nicodemus Tuturoong, Executive Director, and Ms. Eliana Hartaty, Operations Coordinator, of Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta (YTS), Dr. Langston engaged in discussions with PPIIG UPR Director, Dr. Hendrik Segah, and Deputy Director, Dr. Dhanu Pitoyo. The meeting focused on exploring joint research plans and strengthening collaboration on critical issues related to peatlands, forestry, environment, and sustainable development.

Dr. Segah warmly welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the alignment of the discussions with UPR’s Main Scientific Pattern of developing Peat and Watershed Science and Technology. He expressed hope for continued dialogue and further collaborative initiatives.

The visit marks a significant step towards fostering international cooperation in addressing the complex environmental challenges facing the region.
